Two golf courses sit right at White Mountain Lake: the private Juniper Ridge executive course and the public Birdie Ranch, a 19-hole Gary Panks design that its operator calls the only year-round course in the White Mountains. The Two Courses at The Lake

Birdie Ranch (formerly Silver Creek Golf Club) is public: par 71, 6,813 yards from the tips with a slope of 136, plus a par-3 “19th hole” for settling bets. Mountain Capital Partners has run it since March 2023.

Juniper Ridge’s executive course is private, for residents. Its local rules allow only the “Point Five” plastic golf ball, sold at the resort’s pro shop. See Juniper Ridge.

What It Costs

Most courses here do not publish fixed green fees. Birdie Ranch and Bison price tee times dynamically, shown only when you book. Snowflake’s town course publishes a rate sheet (April 9, 2026): $59 for 18 holes with a cart, $22 to walk 9, and $20 cart-only for 18. Pinetop Lakes lists carts at $18 for 18 holes. Torreon, White Mountain Country Club and Pinetop Country Club are private.

Seasons

Snowflake’s course says it is open year round and “very seldom” closed by snow; Birdie Ranch’s operator says it is the only year-round course in the White Mountains. Pinetop Country Club plays April through October, and Bison is open spring to fall.
