White Mountain Lake Estates is the unincorporated lake community about 7.5 miles north-northeast of Show Low in Navajo County, at roughly 6,000 ft on the juniper plateau north of the Mogollon Rim. Its lake is a members’ recreation area rather than a public lake, and Juniper Ridge resort and White Mountain Lake Vistas sit within the same area.
Where it is
White Mountain Lake is a census-designated place in Navajo County. The U.S. Geological Survey’s elevation service puts the community’s center at about 5,968 ft. That is lower than Show Low and the ponderosa forest, so the land here is open pinyon-juniper and grassland, with long views.
The lake
Residents of Juniper Ridge get access to the White Mountain Lake Recreation Area for boating and fishing, according to the resort. The lake is not run as a public park; check access rules before you bring a boat.
Junipers, grassland and big sky
