Part of Show Low, our guide to the city’s lakes, trails, parks and downtown.
Show Low Lake is a 100-acre lake at about 6,500 ft on Show Low’s southern edge, with a campground, docks and boat rentals run for the city by Recreation Resource Management. Arizona Game and Fish calls it the best place in Arizona to catch a lunker walleye.
Visiting
How big is it?
The City gives 100 acres. USGS maps the lake at about 168 acres, and the federal dam inventory lists Jaques Dam, a local-government earth dam on Show Low Creek completed in 1953, with 186 acres at its normal pool; the inventory rated the dam’s condition poor in its October 2024 assessment, which is about upkeep, not a closure. The size depends on how full the lake is and who is measuring.
Fishing
Arizona Game and Fish’s guide lists walleye, channel catfish, rainbow trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegill and green sunfish, and says the lake is open all year. Many trout survive the winter, and in spring channel catfish and walleye gather at the upper end where Show Low Creek comes in. Check current Arizona fishing regulations for bag limits before you go.

- Camping fees and the number of sites (not published on an official page we could read).
